Welcome to Skansen-Akvariet

The world’s most unique aquarium

Skansen Aquarium is the world’s most unique aquarium, here you can find about 200 exotic species such as fish, corals, crocodiles, turtles, lizards, snakes, naked mole-rats, marmosets, golden lion tamarins, baboons, lemurs, spiders and parrots. Visitors are allowed in to some of the animals, such as the animals in the Children’s Rainforest.

At Skansen Aquarium there is always something going on! Since the start in 1978 the aquarium has been rebuilt and broadened with new animals and experiences. As the years have gone by, the aquarium has become more like an arc than an actual aquarium.

You can pet a snake and a spider in the pet and hugging corner, which is open on weekends and holidays during low season and daily during peak season.

We do have private experience where you can enter into the monkeys, meercats or give the stingrays and small shark their food. The fee is 1450 kr on weekdays for two persons in 50 minutes and it is only you and the animals and one keeper/guide leading you through this unique adventure. For more information use this form to contact us.
